Large (8′ wide) natural flagstone makes a rustic entrance to this historic farmhouse on the coast of Maine.
This thick (3″-6″) granite flagging from Maine’s mid-coast region makes for some solid flatwork. Care was taken in this instance to keep a tight (1/4″), consistent joint between the stones. Larger pieces of the same stone make great organic-looking steps.
This walkway was built with Green Mountain Granite, a 2-4″ thick granite flagstone, some pieces weighing over 500 lbs. Stones were collected from around the property for a drystone retaining wall, and old granite foundation stones were brought in for … Continue reading
